Cellometrics makes treatment of airway diseases personalized

    Cellometrics has introduced a novel filter device and associated test kit to provide a non-invasive, direct measurement of airway inflammation.  The patented ACCUFILTER® and kit produces accurate, reproducible sputum cell counts which can be used to guide treatment in a clinical setting.  The methodology allows clinicians to accurately diagnose the presence, type and severity of the inflammatory component of common airway diseases.   The procedure and  kit  also enables pharmaceutical companies conducting clinical trials in relevant respiratory conditions to provide comprehensive and discriminative outcomes not given by other inflammatory biomarkers. The ability to conclusively, quantitatively demonstrate the impact of a proposed therapy enables clinical trial sponsors to obtain regulatory approvals more quickly, with a smaller number of patients and at a commensurately lower cost.
